Irish Coffee Glasses: Galway Crystal
Galway Crystal Irish Coffee Glasses

Galway Crystal Irish Coffee Glasses

Irish coffee glasses are typically footed and have a small looped handle and the selection from Galway Crystal are in the traditional style with added Irish and Celtic designs.

Irish coffee is a relatively new innovation as the familiar cocktail only came into existence in the 1940's when it was first prepared and named by Joe Sheridan at a restaurant  just outside of Shannon Airport.

Irish coffee became popular a decade later when Staton Delaplane, a travel journalist for the San Francisco Chronicle, discovered the beverage at Shannon Airport and commenced to write about it in his columns.   Irish coffee was first served in the United States at the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco in 1952 and the rest is history.
