Irish Love Spoons

Irish love spoons evolved from the intricate wooden spoons made by our Celtic cousins, the Welsh. Our Irish spoons feature brass construction that may be enhanced with shamrocks or the Claddagh.

Typical of a Welsh love spoon our Irish love spoons feature a heart symbol, but our designs are augmented with additional Irish icons, that may include the shamrock and Claddagh along with the harp and the Celtic cross.

Some of our Irish wedding gifts were originated by Celtic cousins of the Irish. The Welsh started the tradition of the love spoons and the Scots invented the quaich cup. The elaborate knot work detailed on many of our Celtic wedding gifts is influenced by the art of all the Celtic nations including the illustrations found in the famous Irish Book of Kells.
