by providing a retreat from Viking invaders. During a raid, the tower was used for safe storage of valuable manuscripts and gold. Round shape prevented removal of ground supports and raised entrance made a battering ram useless.

Irish round tower is a miniature design that is cast in fine pewter. The miniature round tower is a replica of the Monastic Round Tower located on Devinish Isle, Lough Erne, Ireland, which was constructed in the early 10th Century.

The pewter tower features great detail that includes rock wall ruins and an embossed block motif. The Irish figurine is accented with a ladder along with a door and window openings. The base measures 1 3/8" long x 3/4" wide; the tower is 2 3/8" tall, approximately.
